Listening to Phil Valentine yesterday afternoon on WTN, I heard someone talking about a solution to the war that should appeal to both sides of the issue.
This made me think about other problems we face right now, and I believe I came up with a solution to a couple different problems that will make everyone happy.
Problems:
Illegal Immigration: People are coming here illegally from Mexico. Some people, myself included, don’t like it and want them all deported. Others argue, “they’re doing jobs Americans won’t do” and want to give them amnesty.
War in Iraq: One camp says we need to stay the course….not cut and run. We need to keep fighting until the job is done. The other side says we need to bring our folks home.
Solution:
The solution for these two problems is an all-in-one-shot solution. Send the illegal aliens to fight in Iraq. Liberals are happy because the aliens will have jobs and are doing the jobs (fighting) liberal Americans don’t want Americans doing. Conservatives are happy because the illegals are being deported, and we’re not just leaving Iraq with a cut and run policy.
Happy side effect: the BS pork-laden spending bill the Democrats are trying to push on us will no longer be necessary. Illegal aliens work for cash under the table, so they will work for much less than the paltry sum we give our soldiers!
Illegal immigration and Iraq war problems solved in one fell swoop.
