Al Sharpton spoke at my school, TSU. Something he said about Barack Obama made me just shake my head at how hypocritical people can be. According to Tennessean.com:
Assumptions that black voters will blindly support candidates like Illinois Sen. Barack Obama just because of race are insulting to African-Americans, civil rights activist and political figure the Rev. Al Sharpton said during a visit to Tennessee State University on Tuesday.
So let me get this straight Al Sharpton….assuming black voters will blindly support candidates like Obama just because he’s black is insulting, but upwards of 90% of blacks supporting Democrats just because they’re Democrats….that’s intelligent?!
The mere assumption that blacks will support a black candidate is insulting, but the actual fact that blacks almost exclusively support Democrats is not insulting?
Sharpton also had to open his big mouth and claim that Harold Ford Jr. lost the Senate race here because he’s black. Never mind the fact that Tennesseans are very familiar with the Ford family and their lust for power for power’s sake and their history of corruption.
I am sick and tired of the knee-jerk reaction the so-called leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have to anything involving a black person. Everything is not about race, and if you disagree with that statement, you are living in a delusion of your own making! Sometimes someone doesn’t get elected because they’re black. Sometimes someone gets elected just because they’re black.
I am sick of hearing Jackson and Sharpton yelling “hate crime!” when any white person does any harm to any black person, but when several black girls attack a couple of white girls, yelling racial slurs at them as they beat and rob them, Jackson and Sharpton decide they’ll “reserve judgment on whether it was a hate crime or not.”
