Cowardly Lion Bill PurcellCowardly Lion Mayor Bill Purcell has vetoed the English-first bill, which would have made English the official language of Nashville. He’s a politician, I know….which is why he did what he did. He doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers. But his comment on why he vetoed it doesn’t make sense….part of it anyway. He said

“If this ordinance becomes law, Nashville will be a less safe, less friendly and less successful city”

Less safe? How in the name of God does English-first make the city less safe?! That makes absolutely no sense! And less friendly and less successful? If that is less friendly to illegal immigrants and less successful because we won’t get as much money from illegal immigrants, so be it! That’s great and that’s the whole idea, Bill!

Boy I wish politicians would do what the people want and what is essential and necessary and in our best interests….instead of being afraid to rock the boat!
